EAI Installs Dante Network Audio Solution
Greetings,
We were very proud to be one of the first contractors in Florida to adopt and integrate the Dante Network Audio protocol in an installation. We worked closely with First Baptist Altamonte Springs to provide a solution that would facilitate volunteer trainning, multitrack recording and playback. Here is a link for the article that was released on the project. Enjoy.

NAMM Report - Microphone for tight spaces
Hi guys and guyettes,
Real estate is always an issue on stage. Be it a one time performance or routine event, we are always finding creative ways to position tripod microphone stands around the musicians, instruments, music stands, etc. Apparently, Audix heard the people and came up with a very cool solution with their MicroBoom series.
The MicroBoom series was primarily designed for choir applications. We quickly found out that these microphones sound amazing in a number of applications. I've used them on piano, podium, and numerous orchestra instruments, all with great success. Audix released the MicroBoom24 at NAMM. It uses a 24" long boom, instead of the usual 50" or 84", and it is perfect to use with instruments like Cello, Oboe, Harp, Bass, etc. The foot print of these microphones when used with their small stand is extremely small and it fits into those tight spaces or stages with lots of microphones already present.

Check out their website for more details or gives us call.

NAMM Report - The iPad Revolution
Hi yalls,
On this second installment of NAMM Report, I figured I could touch (no pun intended) on a phenomenon that is taking over the AV industry. The famous iPad tablet.
It is needless to say how useful those things can really be. The audio industry definitely didn't wait too long to jump on the band wagon. Allen & Heath was showing their iPad App that will be released at the end of the month for the iLive Series consoles. It is an impressive app that gives you just about any control over console functions. It will make life really easy to control monitor mixes from the stage, as well as walking around your venue to dial in your mix a little better. Many manufacturers are catching on to this trend and offering similar control options using tablets.
Digital mixers can be overwhelming at times to volunteers. For that reason the iPad app brings a great level of simplicity of operation for those with limited experience.
Allen&Heath did a great job on the layout and options of the app making it customizable for easy or complex operation. It will certainly make life a lot easier for operating the console on simple events such as weddings, meetings and etc without full console access. By the way, you don't even need a console surface with this system. You can use the iPad only as a mixing surface. Pretty cool. We can't wait to offer to our clients.
Bellow is a screen shot of one of the pages for the app.

Check out Allen&Heath's website for more info on their products, or just get a hold of us.

NAMM Report - Looking for low cost improvement on Drums Sounds?
Hi friends,
After 4 days of pure audio and music fun at NAMM, i figure I could share a few of the many interesting things I saw at the show.
For those who don't know, NAMM is pretty much one of the biggest conventions in the world that relates to the music industry. It usually takes place in January and it is located at Anaheim, CA. It takes over the entire convention center and some hotels around it. If you are in the music industry, being ministry or not, you should go to at least one of these in your lifetime.
This little product that I found at a very discrete booth there is called Kick Port. It basically acts as a tuning port for your kick drum. Snare, toms and other instruments coming soon. I heard the unit at the show floor and was truly impressed with the change. I was even more impressed with the price being around $40 street. It makes it for a very easy and low cost way of getting a better sound out of your instruments. Check their website for more info.

Churches may face fines for wireless mics.
As of June 12, 2010 Operation of wireless microphones in the 698.000-806.000 mhz frequency range is prohibited by the FCC. This range was sold to wireless communication providers and emergency services
for other uses, therefore making the operation of microphones in that frequency range illegal. The link at the bottom of the page is for an article published in the Florida Baptist Witness recently,
and is about that change and the challenges that churches face when confronted with having to replace these wireless microphones.
If you need assistance getting your church into compliance with regards to your wireless microphone systems, please give us a call or drop us an email
We would be happy to talk to you and help you determine the best course of action.
